What to do in La Xara
Hiking
El Camino de Santiago
Just five kilometres from La Xara, in the nearby village of Jesús Pobre, you can join the second stage of the Camí de Alba—a recognised addition to the routes of El Camino de Santiago.
You don't need to walk the entire Camino to enjoy this stage, which continues toward El Verger and winds through some of the Marina Alta's peaceful countryside.
Golf at La Sella
A short five-minute drive from La Xara takes you to La Sella Golf Club, which includes a restaurant, spa, and resort facilities. It's a great place to unwind or enjoy a game of golf in the Mediterranean surrounded by the Marina Alta's scenic landscapes.
Fiestas
Patronal Festivities
La Xara begins celebrating the Patronal Festivities on the 1st of September in honour of Saint Roc and Saint Mateu. The celebrations are typically preceded by a Chupinazo and live music on the 31st of August.
Over the following 11 days, the village hosts a variety of entertainment, including theatre performances, traditional music, comedy shows, religious processions, and games for children.
