What to do in La Vall de Laguar

Hiking

There are various hiking routes throughout the Vall de Laguar, some of which don't meet all of the requirements for passing quality control. Be sure to check with a local hiking group or guide and follow any necessary safety guidelines.

La Catedral de Senderismo

The famed “Catedral de Senderismo”, PR-CV 147 is a circular route of approximately 13 kilometres where you can walk the 7,000 steps carved into the mountain to explore the natural beauty of the region. Of the three routes that pass through the Vall de Laguar, this is the only one that FEMECV has registered as having passed quality control.

Serra del Penyó Roc

The PR-CV 181 hiking path and its variants are a great way to explore the Serra del Penyó Roc and the surrounding area, with stunning views of the valleys. It is currently registered as without quality control and could be lacking signage, so the FEMECV recommend caution.

Les Valls

The Route of Les Valls is approximately 40km, which will take you on a journey from Fleix to Villalonga, leaving the Marina Alta, arriving in the neighbouring region of Safor. It has been removed from the registry of FEMECV, which could result in signage being removed.

Fiestas

San Antonio Abad

On the 17th of January is the fiesta of San Antonio Abad, which involves a bonfire, dinner and street party in the evening. The fiesta continues on the 18th with a mass and a procession, ending with the blessing of animals and a paella in the town square.

Romería a la ermita de Sant Josep

On the 19th of March is the Pilgrimage from Campell to the hermitage of Sant Josep, after which with they have lunch with coca, a traditional valencian-style pizza, and chocolate.

Patronal Festivities
  • Campell celebrate their patron saints, La Divina Pastora, Santa Ana and Cristo de la Paz, on the 25th to the 27th of July.
  • Benimaurell hold their festivities in honour of San Roque, San Cosme, San Damián and San Miguel from the 22nd to the 24th of August.
