A Guide to Teulada

A Guide to Teulada

16 09 - 2024

Teulada is one of the two main centres in the Teulada-Moraira municipality in the south of the Marina Alta. Located about 10 minutes inland from the coastal town of Moraira you will discover a stunning landscape, where you can explore mountains, forests, beaches and bays.

With plenty of family entertainment and close proximity to neighbouring towns such as Gata de Gorgos and Jávea, residents can experience a peaceful Mediterranean lifestyle with easy accessibility to the larger cities of Alicante.

Bars & Restaurants

There is a great variety of popular bars and restaurants in Teulada such as the Belladonna that offers a dining experience based on the slow food philosophy or Toni Cantó where you can taste delicious traditional Valencian seafood and paella dishes, to name just two.

Fiestas

On the Sunday after Easter the patron festivals begin, which includes a procession in honour of Saint Vincent Ferrer, fireworks, a cavalcade and vaquillas. An important day during this festival is the Día de Quintades.

Around the 25th of November are the celebrations of Santa Catalina de Alejandría.

Hiking

The SL-CV 73 is a 2 kilometre walk that follows the Barranc de la Xurra, a ravine to the south of Teulada. In comparison to some of the other routes in the Marina Alta it is short, but that doesn’t mean it is lacking in beautiful views of the nature and mountains of the region.

To the north of the town there is a municipal football pitch and padel courts.

The Surrounding Area

Benisa

Benitatxell

Also nearby is Benitatxell, where hikers can enjoy some stunning coastal routes or climb to the peak of Llorença for incredible views of the Marina Alta and the Mediterranean sea.

Gata de Gorgos

Gata de Gorgos has great public transport connections to the major towns and cities of the Costa Blanca. They also have various entertaining festivals, including a yearly outdoor textile exhibition where they display handmade quilts from over the world.
