A Guide to Moraira

Moraira is the second population centre that makes up the Teulada-Moraira municipality, known for its white sandy beaches and beautiful coves along the eight kilometre coastline.
Bars & Restaurants
There are many restaurants in Moraira providing delicious traditional Valencian dishes, specifically seafood and Paella. Some of the popular choices include the Rincon de Moraira and El Refugio.
Other interesting options include Eleven, which offers a range of different options including gyoza and hamburgers. Malquerida on the other hand is a popular choice serving Mexican dishes.
Fiestas
Patron Festivities
In Moraira they celebrate their patron saints, La Mare dels Desemparats and La Mare de Déu del Carme on the 15th and 16th of July.
Moors and Christians
In June they celebrate the festival of Moors and Christians. The week long celebration involves many activities such as concerts of traditional music, the presentation of pennants and an offering of flowers.
The main events occur on the final three days including the Moorish Conquest on Friday and the Christian “Reconquest” on Saturday, both of which occur on Ampolla beach.
Finally, on Sunday is the Gala Parade where participants that have formed bands of Moors and Christians, walk the streets of Moraira in their impressive costumes.
Hiking
SL-CV 51, the route is a short route from the port to the Torre del Cap D'or, but also nearby the SL-CV 50, which offers a longer coastal route through the neighbouring Benitatxell.
Leisure
Go Karts
Much of the costa blanca is centred around a more relaxed way of life, but that doesn't mean it lacks excitement. Why not visit AV Karting for a race with your friends and family, with go karts that reach up to 100 kilometres per hour!
History
There are various sites of historical interest on the coast of Moraira including the remains of a castle or the previously mentioned Torre del Cap D'or.
The Surrounding Area
Llíber
Llíber is a charming town in the Vall de Pop, approximately 20 minutes drive away from Moraira and is home to the Casa Agricola where they produce sustainable wine and offer tours and tastings.
Jávea
Home to some of the best beaches on the Costa Blanca, a beautiful old town and it boasts two restaurants to have received Michelin stars, Jávea is worth a visit. The popular Bonfires of San Juan in June are a must and, like Moraira but later in the year, they also host a festival of Moors and Christians.
