A Guide to Campell
Campell, along with Fleix and Benimaurell make up the Vall de Laguar, a valley with stunning views of in the interior of the Marina Alta.
Bars & Restaurants
In the town itself is the bar Tramusser, or heading north along the CV-721 El Nou Cavall Verd. The former is charming little bar in the heart of Campell opposite the church, while the latter, on the outskirts of the town approximately 2 minutes away driving, has a terrace with stunning views of the Marina Alta.
Fiestas
Patronal Festivities
On the 25th, 26th, and 27th of July they begin their celebrations in honour of la Divina Pastora, their patron saints Santa Ana and Cristo de la Paz.
Hiking
There are two main hiking routes in the Vall de Laguar, the PR-CV 43 and the PR-CV 147.
As we have mentioned previously on the blog, the former has unfortunately been removed from the public registry and is best avoided. The latter will take you to the famed Cathedral of Senderism, known for it's thousands of steps carved into the rock but does currently lack quality control, so as with any hiking route it's best to be cautious.
The Surrounding Area
Sagra
In the neighbouring sub-region La Rectoria you can walk amongst the orange groves on various hiking routes and see more about the agricultural heritage of the Marina Alta. Make sure to pass by Sagra, approximately 10 minutes driving from el Campell and visit Un Cuiner a L'Escoleta – the restaurante owned by Julio Vargas who has previously worked in Michelin Starred restaurants.
Orba
Also nearby is Orba, one of the larger towns closer to the Vall de Laguar, which has various sports facilities, the Museu del Fang that displays their cultural heritage of pottery and various great restaurants.
Properties in Campell
Like with the other towns of Vall de Laguar, Campell is a suitable place for those that like rural charm and peaceful lifestyle where you can find beautiful townhouses in the style seen all over the Marina Alta.
