Blue Flag Beaches of the Costa Blanca in 2025
The Blue Flag is a voluntary programme that recognises beaches, marinas and tourism boats that meet stringent environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria.
Each year, Blue Flag sites are announced separately for the northern and southern hemispheres. For the 2025–26 season, more than 75 beaches and marinas on the Costa Blanca have been awarded the Blue Flag.

Dénia
The Costa Blanca’s northern boundary begins in Dénia, the major port town of the Marina Alta, where you can enjoy more than 20 kilometres of coastline and six beaches that were awarded a Blue Flag in 2025.
Jávea
Jávea is a popular tourist destination with approximately 25 kilometres of coastline and numerous beaches and coves to explore, two of which received the Blue Flag award in 2025.
Benitatxell
El Poble Nou de Benitatxell is a charming inland town of the Marina Alta whose municipality extends to the coastline, where Cala del Moraig earned Blue Flag recognition.
Teulada & Moraira
Teulada and Moraira form a joint municipality made up of two towns: Teulada, the traditional inland town of the Marina Alta, and Moraira, the coastal and more touristic area.
Benissa
Although Benissa is one of the largest municipalities of the Marina Alta, at approximately 70 square kilometres, it has just 4 kilometres of coastline. Its historic old town lies further inland, while various residential urbanisations overlook the Mediterranean.
Calp
A popular tourist destination and one of the most populous municipalities of the Marina Alta, Calp is known for the iconic Penyal d'Ifac, the large rock that rises from the sea as part of a protected natural park.
Altea
Altea is a picturesque coastal municipality famous for its whitewashed old town and blue-domed church.
L'Alfás de Pi
L'Alfás del Pi lies between Altea and Benidorm and is known for its international community and the popular beach of l'Albir.
Vila Joiosa
Vila Joiosa is a historic fishing town renowned for its colourful seafront houses and chocolate-making tradition.
El Campello
El Campello is part of the larger Alicante Metropolitan area and is known for the Illeta dels Banyets; a rocky islet with archaeological remains from Iberian and Roman settlements.
Alicante
Alicante is one of the major cities of the Valencian Community and the capital of the province with which it shares its name. Alongside its castle, old town and marina, the city also offers several Blue Flag beaches.
Elche
Elche is another major city of the Valencian Community and is home to five beaches that have been awarded a Blue Flag, as well as two UNESCO cultural heritage designations. Its coastal area combines protected dunes, pine forests and long sandy beaches.
Santa Pola
Santa pola is a tradition fishing town known for its salt flats. It is also in close proximity to Alicante, Elche and the international airport.
Guardamar del Segura
Guardamar del Segura is known for its long, dune-backed beaches and coastal pine forests, which were part of a project to prevent the desertification of the town.
Torrevieja
Famous for its pink salt lake and coastal lagoons, Torrevieja is another popular tourist destination on the Costa Blanca.
Orihuela
Orihuela is the largest municipality in the province of Alicante and is known for its cultural and historical heritage. It also has approximately 16 kilometres of coastline and more Blue Flag awards than any other municipality on the Costa Blanca.

Pilar de la Horadada
Pilar de la Horadada is the southernmost part of the Costa Blanca coast and of the Alicante province. It is home to a Roman quarry that likely supplied stone for sections of the Via Augusta, the major Roman road that once ran along this coastline.
Blue Flag Marinas
In addition to the beaches, 17 marinas on the Costa Blanca were also awarded a blue flag in the 2025-26 season,recognising their commitment to environmental management and quality services.
