Campell, also known as Poble de Baix (Lower Village), is one of the villages that make up the Vall de Laguar. Located lower down in the valley, it is surrounded by the mountains and countryside of this particularly rural part of the Marina Alta.

Fiestas

Patronal Festivities

From 25th to 27th July, Campell celebrates its patronal festivities in honour of la Divina Pastora, Santa Ana and Cristo de la Paz.

Hiking

The Vall de Laguar is an excellent area for hiking, with several official routes beginning in neighbouring Fleix, while Campell also has its own route, the Atzavares Trail.

The Atzavares Trail

The trail begins in Campell and follows the valley towards Fontilles before passing the remains of Atzavares Castle on the way to Orba.

The castle itself is not accessible, but the remains of its walls can be seen from the trail on the spur where the fortification once stood.

The FEMECV registry currently states that the necessary quality controls are in place.

Where to Eat in Campell

The Vall de Laguar offers a variety of dining options whether you're after a taste of Rural spanish life or fine dining with spectacular views of the Valley. In Campell there are two options:

• Bar Traumesser is a traditional Spanish bar serving local dishes.
• El Nou Cavall Verd offers a set menu, with views across the valley and, on clear days, as far as Ibiza.

The Surrounding Area

Orba

Orba is one of the main towns in the area, with a large international community and is known for its history of pottery production. The remains of its Moorish castle is a popular tourist destination that underwent restoration in recent years.

Tormos

Tormos is a small village in La Rectoria, surrounded by the orange groves and agricultural land that characterise the valley. Its quiet roads also make it a popular area for cyclists.
